Yesterday, I had a conversation with my son… He was just showing me his creation. A bracelet made with small elastics. It took me to understand that to make that bracelet was very hard and he was explaining that had learned and now, he knew how do. After that, he showed me how to do. I was amazed!

Hope in God’s Good Plan

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11
We live in a world where we see so many terrible things, tragedies and trials. Sometimes the floor can drop out right underneath us. When my first wife passed away, I essentially thought that life was over. I started thinking that God didn’t like me. When I found Jeremiah 29:11, that verse changed everything. I found that He does have a good plan. Even though this terrible thing had happened, He still had a plan for my life. My life wasn’t over like I thought it was. He had a plan for my life, and it was actually better than I ever thought it could be. God has an expectation for me that I’m going to fulfill this good plan that He has for me.
The moment we change our thinking and start connecting with God, we start connecting with His plans, which always exceed our small plans.
Sometimes bad things can condition our minds to think that God is not on our side, but this verse reminds us that God does care. There’s hope. In my life, I’ve experienced some pretty difficult things. When trials hit, our minds always wants to ask, “Where is God? Why isn’t He stopping this?” Sometimes we think, “Does He not like me? Is He against me?” And then we open the Bible to Jeremiah 29:11, and it totally tells the truth.
The truth is that God has good things for us. He has a plan.
Even before we stepped on this earth, He had a plan for our lives. I find that very comforting.

Certamente Deus é bom para Israel, para os puros de coração. Quanto a mim, os meus pés quase tropeçaram; por pouco não escorreguei. Pois tive inveja dos arrogantes quando vi a prosperidade desses ímpios. Eles não passam por sofrimento e têm o corpo saudável e forte. Estão livres dos fardos de todos; não são atingidos por doenças como os outros homens. Por isso o orgulho lhes serve de colar, e eles se vestem de violência. Do seu íntimo; brota a maldade da sua mente transbordam maquinações. Eles zombam e falam com más intenções; em sua arrogância ameaçam com opressão. Com a boca arrogam a si os céus, e com a língua se apossam da terra. Por isso o seu povo se volta para eles e bebe suas palavras até saciar-se. Eles dizem: “Como saberá Deus? Terá conhecimento o Altíssimo?” Assim são os ímpios; sempre despreocupados, aumentam suas riquezas. Certamente me foi inútil manter puro o coração e lavar as mãos na inocência, pois o dia inteiro sou afligido, e todas as manhãs sou castigado. Se eu tivesse dito: “Falarei como eles”, teria traído os teus filhos. Quando tentei entender tudo isso, achei muito difícil para mim, até que entrei no santuário de Deus, e então compreendi o destino dos ímpios. Certamente os pões em terreno escorregadio e os fazes cair na ruína. Como são destruídos de repente, completamente tomados de pavor! São como um sonho que se vai quando acordamos; quando te levantares, Senhor, tu os farás desaparecer. Quando o meu coração estava amargurado e no íntimo eu sentia inveja, agi como insensato e ignorante; minha atitude para contigo era a de um animal irracional. Contudo, sempre estou contigo; tomas a minha mão direita e me susténs. Tu me diriges com o teu conselho, e depois me receberás com honras. A quem tenho nos céus senão a ti? E, na terra, nada mais desejo além de estar junto a ti. O meu corpo e o meu coração poderão fraquejar, mas Deus é a força do meu coração e a minha herança para sempre. Os que te abandonam sem dúvida perecerão; tu destróis todos os infiéis. Mas, para mim, bom é estar perto de Deus; fiz do Soberano Senhor o meu refúgio; proclamarei todos os teus feitos.
